Pre-ordering Guitar Hero 3

Im pre-ordering Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii either tomorrow or saturday at Toys R Us. Anyone else pre-ordering it? How do you think the online play'll be?Pre-ordering Guitar Hero 3
I pre-ordered the 360 version... hard choice, but I eventually chose that one. Might buy the wii one much later.Pre-ordering Guitar Hero 3
I'm getting both the PS2 and 360 versions of Guitar Hero III from GameFly so I can review them for the site I work for. Ultimately, I'll buy the 360 version, but probably not for a good while. There are just too many games I want to buy this holiday season. To be honest, I didn't even know the Wii version went online until I read this thread. The Wii doesn't really have any successful online games yet, so I'm guessing the system won't be nearly as streamlined as Xbox Live. Is there any reason you're getting the Wii version over any of the other versions? If you've got a 360, I'd definitely go for that version.

Also, I dont think the online will be that bad...plus there will always be the downloadable content (which doesnt come out right away, though)

From ign's impressions, the wii's online is supposed to be just like the 360 and ps3 versions. However, there is one difference... wii uses friend codes.

Why would anyone pre-order this game? I hope you all know that this isnt a real guitar, why dont you all just buy a real guitar and learn on a real one.
Why would anyone pre-order this game? I hope you all know that this isnt a real guitar, why dont you all just buy a real guitar and learn on a real one.
How typical. Believe it or not, some people play real guitar and this (like me) and find this game fun. It's easy to get into, not everyone is musically talented, and it's very unlikely that you will be able to play some of these songs in real life (through fire and flames, jordan). Oh yeah, did I mention guitars are usually at least $500?According to your logic, peopel should not buy skate or tony hawk... they can just go out and buy a real skateboard. Or madden... they can just get a real football and practice til' they make it to the nfl. And halo or half-life... just join the army and shoot some real people instead of pretending to do it.

Thjey make such a big hype about this game and the other 2 werent that good.

This games fun and easy to get into. Let them have fun. Dont be a killjoy.
Gamerankings begs to differ actually (both GH games are above 90), and yeah, people go crazy for Madden. There were more people camping out for the last Madden at the local EB Games than there were for Halo 3. People enjoy good games, and Guitar Hero is a good game! That said, I am not all the excited for GH3. The song list doesn't wow me that much and the $100 is pretty steep. Plus, initial reviews have been somewhat tepid. I'll wait until Rock Band, then decide which to get, if any.And yes... I do play guitar in real life and don't view GH as a guitar replacement. It's just a good time when I don't feel like tuning and setting effects up.
