Are games based off of moives and anime shows any good?

Post what you think. Are games based off of moives and anime shows any good?
It just depends. Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay was one of my favorite games on the Xbox, and it was based on a really bad movie. The Dragon Ball Z fighting games can be a lot of fun, and the Spider-Man 2 game wasn't all that bad.Technically Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic was based on the movies, right? That game was awesome. I mean, most of the time these games are just cash-outs, and it shows, but there are exceptions. Are games based off of moives and anime shows any good?
Almost never. While the previously mentioned Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay was a great game, there have been a few others, my personal favorite would be Battlefront II and KOTOR 1 from the StarWars universe, but for the most part, licensed games from anime, TV, movies, etc often suck and are merely fanservice, and if you weren't a fan, chances are you'd never give that game the time of day because less effort is put into them knowing that they will at least ride the hype wave for a few weeks during movie/game release periods. So again, most of the time games based on previously existing intellectual properties usually suck.
Very nice topic, To me I think all games that are based on movies and anime shows are going to be bad, like Jacka$$ (even though its not a anime show) it was still bad, Family Guy wasn't good at all either. So to get to your point pretty much all games that are based on movies and shows are going to be a waste of time.
In my experience and many people I know movie and show games, basically all liscensed games are crap. I mean yes if the right developers get on the project it can be good or big companies like EA get lucky occasionally. Basically most of the time no they are not good but a few rare ones are ok to great.
Usually, no. Companies don't put as much effort into the games because it's already got the pre-hype and the game has a tight schedule to meet. It has to be released at the same time or soon after the movie. You will get those rare exceptions, but the vast majority are bad. The opposite seems to be true too. Games that get turned into movies usually end up terrible as well.
Post what you think.
Better than (or not as bad as) movies based on games.
From my experience, games made from movies are NEVER good. And vice versa.
It actually depends on what you think of the game itself. But if you want to know any good ones I know of, I am able to name some. I remember Spiderman on the Gamecube being prettyfun (Based on an awesome movie), Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon was an awesome game(Based on a great anime), and Rave Master Special Attack Force on the GBA was a nice game as well (Based on an anime I remember being pretty good).
The Dragon Ball Z games are usually pretty good.
Most aren't but there a few good ones, such as Chronicles of Riddick, Enter the Matrix, and DBZ Budokai.
No one ever mentions Astro Boy: Omega Factor.
