Problem playing LOTR: BFME 2

I am facing a very peculiar problem with Battle for Middle Earth 2. Its about the RTS gameplay. Whenever i start a skirmish mission, the game proceeds for 3 minutes and then it finishes saying that i have been defeated, although at that time, i have gathered more resuources, more units, more buildings than my foe. Hi everyone, im having one issue with the game, I'm not sure if this is supposed to be like this but heres my question, when i put comp in a fortress(helms deep or minas tirith) they only build heroes so i can drop them in 10 minutes or less
